Four days from now will be my one year anniversary. I arrived for surgery 6am on a Monday morning. I was scared. I was nervous. I was not sure if I made the right choice. I remember Dr. B saying, “Andy, from this point forward, this will be the last time you ever feel this much weight.” Surgery was the best decision of my life. I’m down 117 pounds and in the best shape of my life.
The main reason I chose surgery was the gout attacks I suffered every other week. It was interfering with my life and family. To this date I have not had any attacks and I’m off all my meds. For the people who are ready to take on this challenge, the support staff on your journey will be amazing. The smiling faces you see when you walk through the door are with you 110%. I have never had the chance to say this, but to the team at GSB, thank you for changing my life and giving me a second chance to see my kids and be with my family. THANK YOU and I love you guys for it.
